At end of Summer 2020, Wyoming Debate will launch a new initiative: “Team Wyoming”
For free, Team Wyoming will provide supplementary coaching resources to any Wyoming or Denver Urban Debate League (DUDL) high school student. We also hope to expand access to teams from across the Mountain West, if we can match our resources to demand. Team Wyoming is designed for students that desire the ability to compete on an equal footing with anyone, anywhere, no matter the resources they have. Particularly for teams looking to get a foot in the door on the national circuit, Team Wyoming is designed to level the playing field. You can find more information here. If you're a student, you can let us know you're interested here. Go Pokes! During the first day of the Wyoming Forensics Institute, in the policy lab we taught and practiced how to extend a disadvantage in the block. On top of the in-lab instruction and practice with their lab leaders, students also got 4 recap videos that summarized the material covered in lab. You can watch 2 of those videos here. For "Four Formulas for Block Success" check out this video. For an explanation of how to structure an overview and how to do impact calculus, check out the video linked here.
Go Pokes! Lawrence Zhou sat down with me to discuss his starter set for the WFI's LD lab. Tune in to hear the 2014 NSDA LD Champion tackle the likely Jan/Feb topic: lethal autonomous weapons. You can find that podcast here:
